    I posted this on the Ford Barn too, but I think it would help a lot of us if we had a comprehensive seat frame guide for '32-'34 Fords. The difference between three window, five window, sedan, cabriolet, etc... I have read that '33-'34's have a slightly different style metal base, and that the sedans have all metal backs, compared to the metal and wood backs of three and five window seats.

    Someone out there must have assembled their own reference guide that they can share. Any help would be appreciated, and I will post pictures of the seat frames we have to get the ball rolling.

    I almost started a new thread on this subject, you beat me to it. I'll show you mine if you show me yours:D This is the seat for my 33 3 window. My question or questions is do I have the right seat for my car? Are they the right tracks? Is there supposed to be wood between seat tracks and floor pan?

    I am curious too, I have heard of guys using the middle seat out of a Dodge Caravan but I think it would be too short in the back to me to look remotely good in '32?? Anybody wana share a picture or two?

    OK, I can help out some on the 32 seats. Here is a pic of a 5 window seat frame;
    [IMG]
    Notice the toe kick shape in the rear of the bottom pan and the shaped sheet metal sides up to the top of the backrest, which is stick framed. The whole thing slid back and forth on a pair of tracks with a center mounted adjuster. 30-31 Coupe seats look similar but are different. As for 33-34's, I have no knowledge.

    Here is a pic of an original 32 3 window seat pan, although the wood is all new.

    The adjuster/tracks shown are not original. Compared to the 5w seat, you can see that this one does not have the curved toe kick in the back and the backrest wood, originally stick framed, comes right down to an attachment flange on the pan. The shaped sides are wood which attach to fairly tall metal side flanges, which themselves have the forward portion of the side shape stamped into them.

    This seat shell is from a Fordor.
    [IMG]
    Bottom pan is similar to 5w but steel backrest curves into steel sides that have a very different side shape.

    Tudors and Victorias use a pair of buckets;

    The driver's seat adjusts on tracks while the pass seat tips forward on fixed front eyes.
    There's a start, fellas.

    This is a complex issue. It seems there were at least two different sets of tracks for the 34, 5-W alone. One set using ball bearings and the other using roller. When did Ford stop using the 33 style of adjuster (handle and teeth) and go to the handle and rods?? Lets carry this into 35, there is an early style (carry over from 34) round rod, handle, where the handle end points toward the passenger and later in 35 and into 36 it pointed toward the driver. Also in 35 & 36 the tracks have large round holes and some have trapezoid shapes. Difference in the supplier to Ford. My brain aches.

    Does a 34 seat backrest swing open like a 35? They look very similar but the 33-34 may be a touch narrower?

    34 and 35 coupe seat backs do not open like the 36 does. The 33-34 seat is much narrower than the 35-6

    My 33 5W survivor has the setup like your pics, but no wooden spacers. Everything fixed straight to the floor. Handle with teeth, no rollers or ball bearings, just greased runners. I think your plywood sides may have been made deeper to compensate for the wooden blocks. The bright slide part should fix straight to the floor.

    Based on his earlier post its a 32. He mentioned that the 32 and 30 /31 look very much alike.

    The original seat that came with my '34 roadster was stationary - peculiar to the roadster only. I replaced it with a Glide so I could adjust it. There is a lot of good info in "The 1933-34 Ford Book" from the early Ford V-8 Club.

    I stand corrected "The front seat adjusted on the Tudor (drivers only), Fordor, Cabriolet, Victoria, Three-window, five-window & Sedan Delivery and was fixed on the Phaeton, Roadster, Station Wagon, Pickup & Panel Delivery."

    Here is a photo of a 1932 Ford 3 window I found on Craigslist in SD a few months ago. The sides look all wrong to me….too wide.

    seats 014.jpg View attachment 2653855 I wanted to thank Pewsplace for posting up the side views of the deuce seat. Im developing a new line of seat frames with the seat wings avaliable on them. They are cosmetic only and have no function but should give the new seats more of that original look.
