Completely Searching All Vehicles Entering the Lower Level of Cobo Hall

Non-drinker myself,but FWIW, I used to know this painter that ALWAYS had a 7-11 Super big gulp clenched in his grimy paw, even if you came in at 9am. It was half full of Old Crow. Wierd thing is, the guy was a good painter. 29bowtie will probably know who I am talking about, the painter that worked at Circuit when Andy was there.

 

Please somebody load your trunk w/friends or homeless people(should do it for some change) and video the look on the the guards face when he opens the trunk!

 

Just strap a keg on the back of the car & tell em its your gas tank

 

I go to a weekend long concert in the summer and they are really strict on no alcohol allowed into the venue, but we learned that you can hide a lot of beer cans inside your fold up chairs and put them in the bags. They even feel them going through the gates and can't tell. May work well to try that and then just go the the basement! Have a friend with a cooler and ice when you get there? Good luck

We drove the coupe in yesterday. They checked my cooler in the trunk. It had a couple of bottles of beer in the bottom, lots of bottles of ginger ale(I can't drink anymore) with coke cans on the top. They let me through!

When I was a teenager, my friends and I used to go to 7-11 and buy Coke Slurpees. Then add the rum or what ever liquor an older brother would buy us.
We just looked like kids with Slurpees to the untrained eye.

Even remember talking to cops with them in our hands.

never could figure out why folks couldn't put alcohol aside for just a little while, or why they can't have a good time without it. these are public venues that will have youngsters in attendance.
one jackass has one drink too much and somebody gets hurt, that's another show that won't happen next year because the insurance company tells the venue they're not covering it.

 

At $7.00 a beer I would save my money for the next swap meet! Guess I'm cheap like that.

 

Has NOTHING to do with that for most of the folks and everything to do with a cheep quality beer at the venue is $7.75 this year. That my friend is WAY outta line for a beer....in my opinion of course.

Apple Pie resembles AZ Green Tea, so I'm good. I didn't get searched. He asked, "...any beer or alcohol?" I said, "No, you got any?" "No not me man..." "Well you're as fuckin useless as I am!" He laughed and let me through.

While I see all the negatives around the idea of checking and such, you just have to make a funtime project out of it. Take on the challenge. The show is worth it for the people as much as the cars.

OK,,Sunday morning,we know they screened for adult beverages and Hambers being hoodlums they are figured all kinds of ways to smuggle alcohol into the show,,
