The slowest build ever....continued....Making some " Ansen style" or wanna be, brake and clutch mounts and pedals. Used 1940+ ( really don't know ) Ford pedals cut down and rewelded. The master and slave combo right from Auto Zone.Trying to keep it looking "old hot rod", love the way the pedals came out.

I was looking at your 1st pic of the body sitting on the frame, this is what I did...not sure if you sorted it out yet or not.

I like what you are doing! I wish I would have tried that on my 29 rpu. I ended up adding 6 inches on to the standard 29 rear qtr panel, 6 at the top and 2 at the bottom, but the 30 rear really looks good. You might consider making the doors fit flush, as this will add about 1/2 to 3/4 inch without having to work on the doors, although I found out that the door skins I was using, Brookville, were not square so I had to cut them anyhow and I added an extra inch to the door length.

    Keep posting.

Nice build Rex. I kinda like the "not perfectness" of the model A. O.K. just an excuse for my not "perfectness". :)

Put it together as a roller so I can keep fabbing and mounting things up. Lotsa help from Reese the wonder dog. Need opinions.......gas tank only on the back or shorten up a pickup bed? Yes, I know , I asked for it!

I'd go with the bed, just seeing if this is still going :).

I really like where this is going. I don't blame you for wanting the extra room.. I think a short bed would look better than just the bare end of the deuce chassis sticking out. It may look just fine without the bed. Do you have any rear 3/4 shots or rear shots of the RPU so we can get some ideas?

Wow, it has been a long time since an update. Made up some rear "ladder" bars out of a front wishbone, still have to make a trans/ladder bar mount. Then make up a torque arm.

Yeah.. In my opinion, I think there's too much frame sticking out the back for it to look good without a bed. If the frame was shorter then it would look okay without a bed. If it was me, then I would run with a bed but that's just me. It's not my build. Maybe you've got a trick up your sleeve that you've been saving for it. Build it however you want to.

I'll be keeping my eye on this one regardless. I like it.

Texas,I think you are right. I have been thinking the same thing. I've been trying to trade my pretty nice stock bed for a pretty nice shortened bed. No luck so far, considering hard to chop up my bed.
    Thanks for the support!

Made an X member so I could mount my trans and rear end locators. If anyone see's any bad thinking, please point it out. Next up, trans mount, is 3/16 good or should I use 1/4?

I think it looks great. How are you going to mount them to the X-member? Looks like you might be planning to run a bar from one side to the other in between the top and bottom bars?

Thinking of a 3/16 thick plate on the bottem of the x member for the trans mount, gives me 3 degrees pointed down on the trans output shaft. 1/4 inch plate on top of the bottom bar x member for the rear ladder bars and the torque bar to mount to.
    If that makes sence.....

The crossmember/rearend front mount being made. I have decided to use tierod ends instead of 4 bar ends on the front mounts of the rear ladder bars, I just thought the tierod ends have more movement then the plastic/polyurethane 4 bar ends, I may be wrong...... opinions are taken into concideration. Thinking of a torque bar to the top crossmember? Maybe better to the ladder bar?
I really do not think this set up needs a torque arm since it is fixed on the rear axle housing....??
