hello guys, i have a ididit steering column with shift and we are struggling to figure out how to hook up to c6 tranny. i bought a 69-92 top shaft ididit column and now it appears we have no room on either side of firewall to mount linkage bracket to tranny. i do not want to but am considering going to floor shift. any 55 owners with 351 and c6 tranny and what have you used for steering column and shifter. thanks

  2. I did a 351W/FMX swap into a '56 years ago, I just used the OEM column and linkage and a home-built adaptor on the tranny shifter arm to get the right 'travel'. You couldn't manually select 1st gear, but other than that it worked fine.

Reshaping the kickdown rod to fit was more trouble....
