Headlights are frenched, nosed, decked, 55 Chrysler convertible caps, side pipes and bubble skirts are on the list. It has the original red and faded black interior, some colors it would stay,, others it would get changed accordingly. A mild classy kustom is the plan. Any thoughts or ideas regarding color choice? 3. Here are some colors I have seen in "the wild" that have caught my eye for various reasons. 20200227_195953.jpg 20190921_084303.jpg 20190921_105028.jpg 20190615_131209.jpg 20190615_131157.jpg 20190615_104430.jpg 20190615_102029.jpg 20180825_123307.jpg 20200227_195249.jpg View attachment 4964709

Gloss black or the maroon of the colors you showed. No two tone. And the door trim needs a little tweaking.

I like the maroon with silver top. 52 Buick wheel covers look neat on those cars too.

I’ve painted cars for 40 years. I’ve never picked the color for someone else. I think I have great taste in color, but you need to love it to commit to any color. Not cheap to change your mind after.

I don't disagree at all. The problem is I love all of the colors that I am considering. I guess Im looking for pluses and minuses for the colors Ive chosen.

Having owned a multitude of black cars, and my current one is black, my suggestion is to pick a color you like that is EASY to keep clean and looking good. Otherwise you spend a shit load of time cleaning and polishing!

I tend to like the darker colors on the Buick but the two tone green 54 Buick that Chappy444 showed really looks good.

Is your interior nice? Unless you're looking to completely change it, I think you want complimentary colors on the outside to match. Blue or green with a red interior is going to look really odd. I mean I love the green rendering above but I wouldn't want that unless I was going to change the interior to green. Although strangely, the yellow doesn't seem to clash with the red guts.

The "safe bet" is maroon, and in Florida the silver paint on the roof will serve you well to keep the heat out of the interior.

  14. I like all the colours you chose ( except black ) as it does not show off the lines well.
Burgundy is nice but it’s been done 2345668899 times already .

thought about doing one of my cars in burgundy, I think it’s a colour you’ll get tired of after a while.

Interior is original and in fair condition, dash is black, leather seat hoops are red/ox blood, inserts are faded black that is now a silverish tan. I have an early Galaxy split bench in maroon thats in primo shape and Im considering using based upon color choice. Flooring / carpet is currently black, which I intend to replace accordingly

Have you considered two tone below the side trim? Like this one except maroon and white

  23. I would paint it periwinkle, I have no idea what that looks like but I really like the name. :D

Maroon would be a good color in my eyes.

Paint it the color that it was ordered in, the original color. You can't go wrong, unless you have a major change in the color of the interior. Your car's condition and the work you have perform really stands out and you don't need a flashy color to distract from it. By the way, what was the original color?

    Personally, I hate yellow.

But aside from that, any color of your choice would look great. It's a nice looking car to begin with so it's not like the car relies on unreal paint to be presentable. If you're going a very mild route, go solid. If you're being a bit more bold with modifications, go with a metallic, kandy or pearl. Also, be honest with yourself about how straight the car is. If you've got the bodywork dialed in and it's laser straight go dark. If the car is a bit wavy, go lighter. If the body work sucks, go flat.

Mild for sure, I definitely don't want any metallic. Once I swap the panels over from my 53 Super it will be ideal for even black.
