Washington Blue, black reveals, black frame rails. My car
Found this one on line.
I saw this one last year.
about a year, no clear, gets dirty, will be patina before I know it...
should have bought an easier to find color, like just plain tan or butterscotch...
A little touch of a pastel color will set it off .
.......too much time in lockdown........
Nothing will improve on what you have....... just my opinion that you definitely did not ask for.......
mind you , post 31 looks pretty good........not as good as what you have, but.......
Edit; just read post 3, Yes, Yes and YES.....
what about adding trim rings, chrome windscreen surround and calling it a day.
Or...... just have a second set of wheels for it......mags, different colour rims or white wall tyres even......
no, - but just think how much better that would look if the whole car was gloss black..........
( see post 1 if you’re not sure.....)
.......anyone suggest yellow........
( I know it’s not a model A, but most don’t know the difference ...... ).
Lets have a look at the colors you mentioned on your car.....
The colors that moose show look nice but, my opinion, can't beat black.
I guess I’m a dork too...
It is common the paint the body and chassis the same color on a high boy.
I have seen colored bodies on black frames but it is not as common as one may think. Might be something that I would do. But I am a *bicho raro.
Yours is on an A frame and channeled not highboy on Deuce frame.
Actually, you're wrong on both points, but thanks for the input. I was referring to the black frames not highboy specific.
Now working on my 11th street rod project,
it too will have a [much easier to touch up] black frame...
That's not a high boy. BTW, it looks great!
I wouldnt touch that paint, but, since youre looking for a change.
Decide a year that best fits the build, late 50's-early 60's. Check color charts for high end models of the time, Cadillac, Lincoln etc. A guy building a car at the time woulda checked out new cars at the dealership to find a great color.
Wshington blue is a classic if youre going dark blue.
I think the A v8 highboy needs to be one color. Unlike the Deuce body the A’s bodies are narrow and just look better in one color just the way it is! JMO

^^^^^^ 1000%. Your Hot Rod is perfect! It's like a vision of your perfect Woman; "I wouldn't change a thing". I think "adding" trim rings, chroming the headers, hairpins, etc. would just take away from the raw, sinister, triple black, bad ass look and appear like you "went too far and didn't stop at the right point".
Take all the money you would spend repainting it and buy yourself something you need for your shop (welder, etc) or have really wanted...or (as some suggested a 2nd set of rolling stock) maybe a set of early wires painted black with diamond cuts and a quick change tucked under the back......
being as all 32's from Henry came with black frames and fenders I like black frames.
I think they look good both ways.......but then I like radial tires too.
Being that you are in Texas I can understand why you might not want a black car. They do tend to get a bit on the warm side! Although I think your car looks great just the way it is.
THE CAR IS A 10 AND YOU CAN ONLY GO BACKWARDS.....
It's your car you can go any way you want to. The only person you have to please is yourself.
Thats very cool! I thought I would be all for green but oh that tan!
I think the blue and green suffer from the same issue as the black, just wants a few accessories to lift it up. The lighter tan or lighter colours, yellows, red etc are bright already.
