I heard that Casey's car went to a new home....I have no idea who the new owner is...I hope it stays in Texas
I hate to ask, but does anybody have a picture to postof the car? I became involved in the H.A.M.B. just about the time he passed away and never got meet or even converse with him here. I do remember the memorial threads and the sense of loss here on the board though. Sounds like I missed a good person.
Not till the owner says something . But I heard it will stay the same but it will be driven with a clown suite and gold chains Mr T style !!
Well, I am the sad and proud Stewart of Collin's 32 coupe. It is a sad day when you hear your bud has made his last pass down the track. And it is a mixed day when you get in trusted with his pride and joy car. It has been in the works for a long while and it took the help of Collins good friends to make this page finally get written. And I want to thank these friends of Collins and mine for all the hard work they endured. To set wondering minds at ease, I plan on keeping Collins coupe just like he keep it. And to drive the shit out of just like he did. I have probally raced against Collen and the 32 more times than anyone. If I made 28 passes at a event Collin would make 30 and he always ended up beating me on quantity of passes. I finally figured it out. He had a piss bottle under the front seat. Racers edge I guess. Like all things in life, I am not the owner of anything, just the Steward for my while. The car will be raced hard just like always. And if it makes ya smile when you see it out, come on over and give it a pat and hop on in it and reminisce. That is good with me.
Collin always wanted to finish it and paint it purty. Cant wait to see it all painted and finished like he always wanted to have it. He always felt like every year was gonna be the year he would get to finish it. Glad you got it Doc
Rusty I plan on keeping it just like it is. Maybe a safety up grade otherwise same old same old. When people would ask him when he was going to finish it he would always say it was. Good enough for me.
I was lucky enough to get to talk to Casey a couple of times at the LSRU. This post brings a smile to my face thru the remembering of the times. Congrats on getting to be the steward on a piece of Texas hot rod history! Long live Casey's memory. jerry
Congratulations,,I look forward to see images of the old coupe hauling the mail like it use to.:,,I know Casey would approve. HRP
