    Hey guys, new on here.
I have an engine block I picked up about 6 years ago and forgot about it.
At the time the guy told me it was a 390fe but I want to verify before I try and sell it. Here are the numbers I found on the block and crank.

    C7ME-A side of block
    8A2 by starter mount
    C4AE-B on crank
HM57 YN tag on oil pump
3C 352 where the flywheel would go

    Thoughts?

It would be nice if you introduce yourself and tell us where you live etc. before you jump right in to pick our brains for information. We like to get to know our members,:)

  3. C4AE-B is a 3.78" stroke crank, used in all 390, 406, and 427 motors.

Block numbers on FEs are notoriously misleading, the only sure way is to measure the bore. 352 is 4", 360/390 is 4.08", 406/428 is 4.13", and the 427 is 4.23". The 427s are easy to identify, they all had cross-bolted mains.

The block was cast Jan 2nd, 1968, is about the only thing you can tell for sure from that, isn't it?

so, 360 or 390. Measure the stroke to see which it is.

Going from what crazy Steve stated, that the crank number puts it at 390, 406 or 427 I will post it for sale as a 390...from 1968
    Thanks yall.
