Question for the guys that have run a clutch turbo in a drag car. What kind of gear ratio change is needed compared to using a converter?

44 years ago a friend of mine ran a clutch flight in his front engine BB Chevy powered dragster, the thing I remember from all those years ago was the clutch was everything and didn't last very long.

Either one, you want to cross the lights at the red line, or thereabouts.

Good luck, have fun, be safe.

Per above...the gear ratio or...final drive ratio needs to be chosen by the rpm that you wish to cross the finish line with.
Provided that the engine is still actually making power at the engines "red line".
Whatever the trans. is is mostly imaterial, even with a slipping converter or no slippage at all. It's still the engines RPM.
Which is normally controlled by the cam (springs too !) and cylinder head flow.
