Technical Clutch cover bolts

I'm putting a clutch cover and clutch disc on the flywheel today. The bolts are 3/8ths grade eight fine thread . I plan on the tourque at 25 pounds. They have the right lock washers but I'm wondering if I should use some blue thread locker?

 

Lock washers would be fine the locktite will loosen under the heat.

 

Here at my shop I always use locktite on pressure plate bolts and flywheel bolts even if they have lockwashers. I have never had any problems with bolts coming loose.

 

I think it is 32 Foot pounds for the 3/8"-24 grade 8. JC

 

Locktite lets go at around 350 F. Will your flywheel get that hot? I'd put on, it can't hurt.

 

The proper Pressure plate bolts will have a 1/4 shoulder under the threads,,,in other words,the threads do not go all the way up to the bottom of the head

 

if in doubt drill the heads and use lockwire /twister pliers
