Wowsers thanks for the blast from the past reminder that I watched this on our rabbit eared b&w tube tv with 2 count em 2 VHF channels until I was in 5th grade when we we got a 3rd channel a UFH channel which carried NBC. Those were the days and another influence on my car obsession! Now let me go and listen to the Monster Mash with Bobby "Boris" Picket and the Crypt-Kickers!
In keeping with Halloween and the Munster casket modes of transportation, here is a casket go cart, made from a real casket, some creative local father put together for his kids. I thought it was pretty innovative.
One of Herman's greatest lines was in hot rod Herman when he asked what kind of car the dragster was and the reply was "it's a rail" to which Herman replied "A rail? Oh yes, one of my wife's relatives was once ridden out of town on one of those but it wasn't quite that modern".... really funny....
One of my favorite episodes, I bet I have watched it 100 times since I was a kid till now. A CLASSIC! The only dragster that can play oh promise me in second gear, the pipes off the organ in the house was a nice touch.
My folks owned a bakery and in the late sixties the national bakers convention was in Anaheim California. It was during that trip when we went to Universal Studios that I first saw Dragula in the flesh. It made an indelible mark on this young car lover and my taste in vehicles. I only worked on one hearse in my career. We put two large sunroof’s in it and a van roof rack. The owner had a monkey that he took to kids birthdays and that was his vehicle for it.
I love this episode. Perhaps the greatest half hour in TV history. Eddie had the current Drag-U-La at the Somernites Cruise in Somerset, KY last June.
