Technical Cleaning a padded cloth roadster top?

    Howdy. Was wondering if there are any tips on giving a cloth padded top a wash. I was wondering if it can be done with some kind of rentable steam cleaning or even one of those cans you buy for cleaning rugs.

    This is a solid top, or like it doesn’t fold down.

    Secondly, you see in the pics is made of like a cotton fabric, twill perhaps. You think it could be sprayed to make a little water resistant? Using the silicon that comes in a spray for like clothing.

    Any tips appreciated. I can also not clean it, just has a huge spot and it also got sprayed with antifreeze this spring. [​IMG][​IMG]

    Thank you for the tip, watched a few videos. I am not familiar with how a folding top is made, but does it have padding? This top has padding. I’m a little afraid of it not drying. Planning to put a fan on it and blotting the water off like they recommend. Thanks.
