57 Cameo was rusty, butchered, pitted, and cracked but super important for a Cameo--it was all there. The big block Chrysler engine had the exhaust run through the right toe board and the rest of the floor was "sculptured" for the torque flite. The center of the dash had been replaced with a Ford section that was pop riveted in; I guess to get a modern radio. No repro bed back then and the bed used up the most hours. Lots of hours and lots of bucks later it did something that seldom happens with our projects---it didn't lose money. Did have to score a 265 engine and Hydramatic trans to be correct. 57 trucks did NOT have 283's.
Nice truck. You sure about the 283 not being available for pickups in '57? Gonna have to dig out pops old owners manual...lol.
