Finished restoring the 48 Ford steering wheel and added a modified Olds horn button. Got it installed along with the steering column, turn signal switch, and tach.

I wanted a one off shift knob and took a try at making one. Started with a F1 shift knob and turned a recess in the top and glued in a 1938 Fisk Tire token. (I collect Fisk Tire stuff as it's my last name).

Years ago I sold some FISK stuff on eBay to a guy named FISK. Had to ask, and it turned out his Grandfather was the little kid in the PJ's. Car is looking great. Bob

Got the headlights converted to run 1157 short bulbs and painted.

The wheels are blasted and freshly painted.

Other then a few small odds and ends I am now just waiting for the engine to get back. I did just replace my front wheel cylinders which even though new kept leaking even after I took them apart and rebuilt them. The second pair of new ones seem okay so far.

Just found this build, great work, a lot to take in and use, including that in tank electric fuel pump. I spent ages trying to find something that would work with carbs, but there just didnt seem to be any info out there, so I purchased an external carter, but now, I think I may go this route. Do you need a pressure regulator to run carbs with this setup, and what filter did you use? Thanks

This is a low pressure fuel pump. Only 4psi Max so no regulator should be needed. I have still not run this setup. 51box has been using this pump with multiple carbs with good results. I have a Wix screw on fuel filter mounted on the inside of the frame rail.

Really enjoyed your build thread. Your work is tight and right. Hope you get your Olds motor back soon.

Took a stab at polishing my vintage Weiand valve covers.
    PXL_20201112_225057740.jpeg
They had a lot of nicks and scratches. I started with 180 grit and worked my way up to 800 grit them polished them with my converted bench grinder. They are not perfect and some nicks are just too deep to get out but I am happy with the way they turned out.

I was thinking that I would paint between the fins but am not sure if I want to do it as I like how they look now. The area between the fins is glass beaded.

Rocker covers look great. The whole project looks great, really like the steering wheel. Sold some FISK stuff on eBay years ago to the son or grandson of the kid in company logo. Bob
