It's three and a half hours for me, and that's leaving from San Diego, but that's before the sun's up. I try to get there around 8. Be careful speeding on the Grapevine though, that's where all the cops seem to be on Saturday mornings. Use your AAA card and you get a discount on that 25 buck entry too ... :)
    See you all there!

  3. plan on going all weekend and taking my car brothers bringing his trailer to sleep in

  4. I wish! I have to shoot a wedding that weekend :(

  9. Can someone give me the lowdown on camping there? Spectator camping, general camping etc. Camping is traditional

Spectator Camping is on the east side of the track. You get a spot that about 20 x 50 +/- . Its basicaly 4 rows of RV's up and down the track. That spot costs you 75 bucks for the 3 days. You also have to have a 3 day pass to get yourself or any one else in your group. Thats $65.
There is some that park or camp just out side the facility in the general parking area. So far they have never charged for that. Like mentioned it is nice and quiet out there at night. You can see a couple in bottom center of this picture.
To the left of the track is spectator camping. The right is the racers.
Lots goes on after the sun goes down :)

  17. Are you guys with the bar right on the fence every year? If so, you guys have got it DIALED. It looks like THE place to be. I see you guys every year, and it seems like you always have an even more extravagant set-up than the year before. You guys know how to have a good time!

We are a group of nine guys from Sweden flying over for this event. I have been there a couple of times and i think CHRR is one of the best events you can find.
We are leaving the cold weather in Sweden on the 11:th and i am really looking forward to get some California sun:cool:
