when did they start putting chrome wires on cars? what were some of the first cars to come with them? im thinking packard, duesenberg, auburn... what about some of the more affordable cars, when did they come with them? my bud has an all stock 32 plymouth coupe with chrome wires, its got a real cool look to it. crossed my mind to put a set on my essex.

My '29 Dodge Brothers has chromed lockrings on the wires. I'm not sure they chromed the whole wheel THAT far back, but I won't say they didn't.

My Father's '31 Auburn Boattail has factory chrome wire wheels and so does the L29 Cord he's re-doing right now.

Cads and Buicks both got them in 53, Before that only the real high dollar cars have them. Auburn, Duenberg, cord, Early Lincolns and Cads, Packards, stuff like that.
