Nice job on the chassis. That is one of the hardest cars there is to chop and get to look just right though. I've seen far more of them that were chopped that looked squashed rather than look slicked out.

  4. I have never seen that body style chopped that looked better afterward. Not saying you can't do it, just that every one I have seen looked like crap. My opinion.

I also have seen some sweet chopped short door coupes. Love the power plant in there also.

looks good. Nice that you kept the drip rail and didn't squash the 1/4 windows

I was lookin at your 41 before I did the chiop ,I really liked the look you got there too,I started with a 41 but the guy that chopped it really jacked it up,and was way too much work to fix it .Not that I didn't have a ton of work here also but nall the seams were straight and the car was untouched

  12. Hmm. Upon further inspection, I may be wrong in your case.

I agree most to me look bad too much isn't always good .that's why I kept it at a 3 inch chop, and a subtle b pillar slant .Thanks this the only car I've ever built and ever chopped. I've looked at these 46,7,8 fords so much, my wife thinks I need a life.

Yep, you certainly did,had to cut the heck out of to fit but ,the rear section had the flow to match the rear window when I laid it down. What do you think ?I'm in the process of welding the running boards and rear fenders on now, Almost ready for bodywork and get it ready for paint. I've been working on this for almost 4 yrs ,

Body's beautiful, Tim. Just the right chop. Flows gracefully, drip rails gratefully retained.
    Exceptional engineering, time well spent.

Thanks I get a lot of compliments on the chop and you will on yours. You took a different approach but got the same basic look, instead of the squashed top tiny 1/4 window look

Looks good bud!!! How long have you had the car? The reason i ask is i just bought a '46 Club Coupe, had it about a month and a half now, wanting to see how yours turns out. I won't be chopping mine up though, not that i have anything against doing that, i just wanna keep mine uncut. Do you have any pics of where you repaired the rot on the underside of the body? Mines pretty much gone and im no metal worker! I need help! LOL!!

Hey Man ,I've had the car for almost 4 yrs., I've been doing metal fab on this primarily by myself. I have a few buddies that come over and help out a bit now and then .But it is a labor of Love. I bought several panels from EMS,for the 46 ford and they always have to be modified to fit. Kind of depends if you are going back exactly to same or customizing a bit .I replaced the inner and outer rockers with EMS panel and lowers quarters and lower cowl. and ended up not using the whole panel and then stretching the quarters to weld to the running boards and seam welding the running boards and rear fenders and gravel guards. I'll upload some more pics when I get time in the next day or so.

JB, for me, its gotta be a Ford in a Ford. When you lift the hood on a ford and there's a chevy in it ,you always hear the big sigh and soon after the hood is up and they walk away. Kinda like a bad chop. Hopefully I don't get either of those reactions. But, I'm building this the way I want it

Bad ass ride, I too believe in a Ford in a Ford. However, I did put a hemi in a '54 Chevy once.
