Chopped Canadian 40 Merc. Coupe (pics)

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by gearheadforever, Jul 1, 2006.

  1. Just over at my buddies (Canada Customs & Hot Rods) and took some pics of my ride, thought I would share.
It's a 40 Merc coupe, built in the East Van Garage, chopped 5" in the front and 7" in the back. Got a 354 HEMI, 700R4, and a Ford 9". Painted emerald green with some flattener in the clear. 49 Lincoln tail lights, 49 Plymouth bumpers, 47 Lincoln door buttons and lot's of scrapes on the tail pipes.

Kool, you cannot beat a chopped '40 Merc. When people hear the word
Merc, they instantly think about the '49 to '51 body style. The ultimate
Kustom in my eye is the '40. When you add a Hemi on top of that, your just
adding more fuel to the fire. uuummmmmmmmmpppppppaaaahhhhh!!!

    Thanks for sharing the pictures.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

that one seems to fall off nice. I noticed it has no side glass.... I notice those things. that wont be easy.
the hemi is a cool choice.
that seems to be the standard chop hieght because much lower gets real hard on an already hard car to chop.

I think most agree that 39-40 Mercury coupe customs are the coolest cars to customize.

and shots of it from the side?
