Great to see this here, Jeroma. You and D did a great job. Nice to see a chop using shaped metal that is finished, rather than a Frankenstein face of stitched scars that gets mudded. I have decided that I will not kill you for chopping the car. :) And thanks Jeffrey for all the pics. vic

You shouldn't be surprised. You've nailed every single element of this build. Especially the suspension part. Engine, trans, induction, body mods.. I mean, there's not one single thing you've done that would have disappointed a truly hardcore traditionalist.

I just remembered today that Jeffrey told me at the Revolution that someone in the Iron Lords club was running a KingShift shifter on a LaSalle. That wouldn't happen to be you, would it?

  4. Man the more I read this post the more I want to start work on my Merc. Got to get one project done at a time though. This is one of the best custom build threads on the HAMB in a while.

    WOW!

A major homerun on this Merc build!! Thanx for not buildin another "streetrodded'' (350/350, bags and a four link) Merc!
The world doesn't need anymore street rods without door handles!:(

I can walk you through it, these transmissions are pretty simple.
Do you already have a trans?

With the car back at the shop, it was time pull it back apart and get to work on the inner structure of the roof and then onto the firewall.

I had I put the engine and trans in one more time to build the trans cover and to make sure everything fits before I get paint on the firewall
