First of all, I have to say a BIG thanks to my friend James-without his help this literally wouldn't have been able to happen. And Travis for all the help! Also, another BIG thank you to Rick, owner of Jazzman Customs, for letting us do this at his shop!

So, last night we pulled the coupe in and started measuring and taping. James had warned me that 5" would be considerably more work than say 3", but it's what I really wanted, and he was cool enough to commit to making sure it was done properly.

Before too long, it was all taped up:

Then the first cut: NO GOING BACK NOW!

    And a few more cuts:

And then after a few more....

After we marveled at what we had just done for a while, a little more chopping and cutting and we set the lid back down for the first time and stood back to take it in:

I was floored. After walking around it and saying "holy shit" probably 1,567 times, it was time to get it tacked in.

    Relief cuts:

After the roof was reattached, we had to roll it outside for a look. I fired it up and drove around the block. I haven't altered the seat yet-so it was pretty hard to see out of the 6" tall windshield opening, but I couldn't resist.

Then back into the shop for some more gawking. It still needs finish welding, but it is attached and all the frames are cut down and back together. Monday I'll take my glass up to get cut. There is a lot of cutting and forming that needs to happen still to make the rear windows line up 100%, but that will be another day. So anyway, that's how she sits as of right now. I'll post more pics as progress continues.

Again, thanks to James, Travis, and Rick for being so cool!

Nice, I think 5" is the perfect amount. Thats how much I took out of my 31 sedan. It looks mean without being over chopped.

I was around a 4ish inch chop on my 31, its not traditional and I sold it last month. I will get another more tradional chopped A someday. Here is a pic for reference.

Thanks guys! I'm really pumped right now. Once the chop is all buttoned up, the only other things I want to do are to change the wheels and tires out for 16" wires and bigs/littles, warm up the banger a little bit and drive it! I probably won't worry about a serious paint job until next winter. I want to drive it first!

Looks killer dude, when are we gonna kick it. Sorta reminds me of my old sport coupe. I did a 3 inch chop, not the best but I'm always still learning... stoked for you... Im right across the river home boy, come brave the 205 bridge and show it off!

Hey man! I'd love to hang out. You still in the same house off 39th? Also, can you PM me your number again? I lost a bunch of my phone numbers when I switched phones.

The car is fenderless. I'm running just the aprons. At least for a while!
