Gaskets are floppy and flexable, i wouldnt trust those to size things up.

You should be able to find a used Chev valve cover laying around that you can latch on to for trial fits. and match up.

I've got some of both at home and will put them face to face tonight to see how they match up.

  4. gee.....you made me go out and measure some

the holes horizontally are 8-3/4" apart

the holes vertically are 4-1/8" apart

the flange that seals against the head is 18-5/8" by 3-7/8" on the inside , 19-1/2" by 4-3/4" on the outside

Man, thats real close but i guess to far off to work with. The flange dimensions would probably work though, doesnt do any good if i cant bolt it up.

  6. if you can build that turbo stuff , i think you could build some adapters..cut it out of 3/8" aluminum , drill holes to mount to your heads , then drill holes (1/4"-NC) for some studs to hold them down

FYI , adapters are made to use the old style valve covers on to centerbolt heads

LOL, i havent given up yet, but i just have to ponder on it and take the valve cover off and look at the head on the spare motor to see what i can come up with. Yea, first thing i thought of was those adapters though.

    Thanks for your help.

I think you were looking for the "we answer any automotive question, no matter how vaguely worded and how much the subject matter is off topic for this website-website".

  9. Or mix the flanges of one with the rest of another.

Or ..just build you a set of valve covers that will fit whatever it is you are building. That looks like some good aluminum fabricating skills. Put them to use building your self a set of one off valve covers

You mean like these I made to adapt my old pre 67 staggard bolt valve covers to my "modern 1971 350 . lol DSCN1169 (2).JPG I'm no machinist. I made them with a bandsaw and a drill press and they are thick enough for the covers to clear roller rockers.
