Projects Chevy Truck Cab Fuel Door

I'm looking at mounting a flush fuel door or pop up cap in the stock fuel filler location in my 58 Chevy truck. I don't want to relocate it to another location and I'd like to use the stock tank, safely behind the seat.

Has anyone had any experience with any of the hot rod door kits or motorcycle pop up caps with a weld in bung in the stock location? One company uses a magnetic door catch and hinge from kitchen cabinets, not too keen on that.
