Chevy Power Steering Prob

A friend of mine just called about his steering problem. First time engine has been run with power steering hooked up. When engine started, the steering wheel whipped out of his hands and went back and forth until he could kill the engine. Hoses hooked up bass ackwards?

 

yes.....they are hooked up backwards
