I have a 1957 Chevy 235 that I’m trying to track down a set of hydraulic lifters for. I’ve found a set of NOS lifters for ‘50-‘52(part number 5230650) on eBay, do any of you guys know if the lifters are compatible for different year 235s? Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
The lifters I’m looking at list both 5230650 and 5231450 part numbers. This has me a little confused, wasn’t sure if they’re the same part and GM changed the number? The number on the box says 5230650 which is for ‘50-‘52 Thanks for the information Squirrel Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
NO those are completely different engines. Why would you be looking at parts for a 52 engine when you have a 57 engine? That doesn't make the least bit o sense. The 52 was a babbit beater engine with 14 lbs oil pressure. You don't need to go to some high dollar antique outfit. just go to the local parts house and order a set of lifters for a 57 235 and be done with it u The only thing you really need to know is Hydraulic or solid lifters. Cars had hydraulic but some trucks had solid lifters that year Hydraulic for the 235 Seal Power HT761 is a good number from 53 though 62 but they aren't cheap rock Auto wants 17.79 each and the price goes up from there with other vendors. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...8l+235cid+l6,1488472,engine,valve+lifter,5548
