chevy 216 timing and dwell

I'm trying to find some info on the internet but cannot seem to come across anything. I understand the timing needs to be set by ball on the flywheel and such, but does anybody know what the dwell needs to be set at first? It's in a 37 chevy pickup, straight 6 216. If anybody knows and could help with setting the timing and dwell, please chime in or shoot me a pm please. Trying to get this thing started today if at all possible. Thanks hamb. Set the point gap at .018

 

Old Motor's manual shows .018-.024 gap @ 36* dwell.
