Found this on another site. I guess you could be the only guy with a hot rod in the arctic circle. Watch out for penguins... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MODE...ryZ10076QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I know a guy who's had one for over 30 years siting in his barn - stone stock and slowly crumbling away. "I'll get around to it someday" he says. He's 83.
Very cool! There aren't any penguins to hit in the Arctic, but watch out for Musk Oxen and Polar Bears!
that Hemmings Classic Car article is now online at http://www.hemmings.com/hcc/stories/2007/06/01/hmn_feature13.html I also had a blog post about them at http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2007/02/05/donuts-and-hot-dogs-on-lake-george/ I got to ride and drive in a couple of them for the story. It was a blast trying not only to work my way around the Model T's planetary transmission, but to get any sort of traction with the front skis. The rear tracks offer plenty of traction, though. Top speed's somewhere around 20-25 mph, but that's plenty fast with no top and no heater in sub-freezing temperatures. dan
