So What and I were busy putting in the custom windshield today. Totally one of a kind. I think it gives the truck a very mean look.

Damn, that thing looks really pissed. I dig it.

  7. Is that all from scratch? Or did you modify some production pieces? Will the windows tip out at the bottom?Vey sinister looking.

Yeah, we hammered them out using a pattern we made from particle board.

Those look like VW Bus front windows!

You should set them up with your own version of Safari Windows, fully opening front windows.

  15. I'm guessing the glass mounts from the front? Will it be glued in place like a late model? or will you run rubber around the edges?

  16. And what did you do with the stock windshield surround?

We are just going to glue them in place, although the flip out glass would be pretty cool. I might have to play around with that idea. The stock window and frame were junk thats why we made this

I'm with flamedabone, I agree it looks really pissed.
You guys never fail to amze me. I would've never thought about doing this as a method of saving junk metal. I would've fiddled around trying to make it look original.
So tell me mikey, does the particle board hold up to to the hammer beating? Did you use regular body hammers or those new fangled plastic jobbies?

    Great work, I love it.

The particle board held up fine. We actually screwed it to another piece of plywood so the lip would remain constant the whole way around. Yeah, we used regular body hammers to pound it into shape. You can't really tell by the pics, there is a peak between the two sides that runs down to the cowl vent and up into the roof area.

So what, I've been thinking about using my chisel as a planishing hammer, does anyone make a hammer shaped attachment?

  27. James... we rounded a perfectly good chissel bit with a grinder. You have to be VERY careful. I put 2 holes in the sheet metal before i got used to it.

It'd be real cool to make another set, but for the inside. Would really stregthen it, too. Anyone else have any hammer form pics?

Damn, that truck looks great! Did you rob those windo openings from another car, or totally fabricate yourself? Way to go!

Hey Motor Mikey. Not to meddle in what you are doing, but this may be a tip to you. If that Yellow car sitting behind your truck cab is infact a Model A Victoria, You could probably sell that body to a restorer for a lot of scratch, thus buying a roadster body or maybe two. I know a lot of people look for those in the restorer Model A bunch.
