yup, chrome knobs. 68 newport. it was just time for a little change.
i think it came out cool. cheap and easy.
i'm building a set of extended skirts that will cover almost all of the rear wheels next.
    excuse my cell pics:

    thanks.
i really like the way it came out, looks good in my opinion. and if i get sick of it, it's just a matter of twisting them off.

i was debating throwing more on there or not....
i have another dozen knobs and hardware i could put on. just couldn't find a configuration i liked with that amount. we'll see.
    thanks for the input.

Man that car looks clean and stock, I wouldn't fool with the knobs.

If you must(hey, it's your car) *PLEASE* don't do anything to the grille you can't undo wihtout damage. You'll never find another good one like that.

Sweet looking ride, I'd just leave it alone and put it on stock wheels/hubcaps/whatever

thanks. it is clean, but it's not exactly stock. it's bagged, fresh paint with a bunch extra metal flake, rebuilt motor with a bigger 4 barrel, big dual exhaust, etc. and soon to be extended skirts.
i have stock wheels and hub caps for it, but they don't look as good as the moons.
this car is just going to be a nice mild custom cruiser, nothing outrageous. it runs and drives great, that's all i want to do with it-i just want it to look nice doing that.
    thanks for the input.

oh, and as far as the grill goes, i haven't done anything to it that can't be undone. just some screws through the existing slots.

oh , well in that case...we need more pics...and that grille looks like a great start!

there's gotta be some way you can experiement with the placement, maybe putting holes in cardboard and sticking it behind the grille, then poking the knobs in, like a lite brite?!?

I'm leaning towards a dense pack of knobs, maybe of varying heights?

You know how us mopar guys are...you're inviting trouble but it's your car. Try not to take offense -mopar people love stock.

FYI: 68' = not hamb friendly...

i like to think that fellow hamber's can appreciate a cool car, regardless of the year. i have and have had plenty of hamb friendly cars, i just wanted to show this one to other like-minded people.

  12. Yeah, those 68-foot-long Chryslers are a bitch here, to be sure! But they are amazingly easy to park!

Nice Chrysler, BTW. Not real keen on the hardware store knobs, but it is your car to enjoy as you see fit!

Can the same configuration be used in a tighter pattern?
    i.e.:
    1) < < < > > >
    2) <<<<>>>>

Is the center emblem part of the grill or could it be removed?

  18. Cool start, but I think it needs more (and in a tighter pattern). I would love to see more pics of the car, you said it is bagged.....how did you get around the tprsion bar front end? PLEASE let me know,

oh, i'm sorry i should clarify. it's bagged in the rear only. haha yeah, the front end was going to be a little much to work around, and to much $ to make it work.
i have bags in the back, and the torsion bars cranked way down in the front.

    hmm.....
    yes, i suppose it could....
i literally just kind of threw this together. maybe i'll have to do just that, double them up, more compact.
    good idea.

  22. Dangit!
I have hydros on the back of mine and the bars cranked down up front. Nice looking car by the way:D

thanks!! got any pics of your car?

  24. Mine is a moor-door, but I still dig it.
The red wheels were there when I bought it (I repainted them candy brandywine until something better is located). I have big plans (don't we all?) but getting them accomplished it the issue.

    thank you.
i really must say that i am shocked at the number of people who say they aren't a fan of the knobs. i think they look awesome. to each their own i guess. i really thought of anyone, most everyone on the hamb would dig it.
either way, i'm keeping them. if anything, i'm adding more. for now though i'm gonna roll with it.
maybe if you saw the car in person you'd get it a little better. i can see from the pics that it kind of looks like a stock ride, but in reality it's going the way of a mild custom cruiser.
    thanks for the input guys.
