Tried. I guess my u tube account isn't up anymore.
Had to move the latch out 3/8". I will post some pics as it goes back together
What about the handle LOL
It's alive! Do you think you'll miss the flathead six?
Maybe the mileage and "screw you" to the flathead ford factor...
You are so close I don't know how you can stand it. You'll be rolling it out for a drive any day now!
Your ingenuity and use of parts you have is inspiring
I'd like to thank @Runnin shine for upping my detail game. I'm at the point where I am making my own stainless cline and wiring clamps.
Thanks Wayatt you have turned me not pervert.... lol!
On a serious note I got the valves set today and the engine is smoother and quieter. I should have the clutch linkage sorted and reinstalled tomorrow. All the wiring is done and the temp gauge seems to work great! Not sure about fuel yet. I only put 5 gallons in the tank, it's 16 gallons which makes the gauge barely moves.
I turned 76 Wednesday, I put less than 5 gallons in me but I can barely move.
Well six years six months and approximately six days from when I started this project it has plates and will drive down the road today.
I just need to make up a throttle rod and horn button to be running and legal. I will probably put the side glass in as well because it's looking like rain this morning.
Don't forget to post a video to commemorate this historic moment!
Triple 6's hmmm wait a day...
And yes get a vid good luck on the voyage
Good luck on your maiden voyage. Looking forward to a report!
Yeah take video man, I’ll post it on my account and share it to this thread
Well it runs and drives! I put 10 miles on it in the last couple of hours.
Needs a leaf on each side in the back and two up front. (The box sides are kissing the U bolts.) Bump stops and hammer work to follow.
Needs a big package of sound deadner!
Trans growls, but it's seems to be getting quieter.
Side windows, weather strip and door panels should help cut the noise.
Me and my daughter are off to our first cruise! 30kms through two towns. Should be fun!
Yeeeaaaaaaaaahhh buddy!!!!! So stoked for you!!
Woo Hoo! Taking it to the cruise the first day reminds me of heading to Texas in my son's Stude and having door windows installed in Reno and working on it each night along the way. I stayed a week to finish the car while he got moved into the dorm and attended orientation classes at Texas Tech over 20 yers ago.
I'd post a video but my old iPad doesn't seem to play nice with YouTube anymore
Congrats on the maiden voyage @dumprat...well deserved...
I have a pretty big list of thing s to fix and finish. Going to work on getting the engine tuned and getting the brakes bleed a bit better. I need to trim the box sides a bit as they hit the axle, I'm also going to put some leaves back it.
But I'm happy it son the road.
Good to see it out playing with it's friends. That is a pretty short list of fixes for a new build.
I think I did that right, couldn’t wait to finish breakfast had to stop and load it for you guys ASAP!
truck looks and sounds perfect man, congrats again!
edit: didn’t do that right lol link should work though hold on and ill make it imbed.
Not sure why I can’t get an imbedded link. Click on the link and maybe one of you can get a link that imbeds .
@loudbang thanks! It was only giving me one option to link each time I tried .
Man that’s a cool hotrod! Way cooler alive and in video!
Congrats, sounds REALLY good.
That thing got a HEMI in it !
I am a bit jealous...
Nice to see it moving on its own, Now time to get mine moving to try and make Woodward this year..
Beautiful hotrod you built. Now you can really start to enjoy it. Sounds great. Drive the wheels of it.
