I'm not a wood guy. It might be maple. It has a lot of really nice grain and burl marks. It's really springy and tough. It is scrounged from dunnage for a steel building a former employer put up.

IMG_0388.jpg IMG_0387.jpg More and wiring related items today(and my wife wonders why it takes so long!)
Scuffed and repainted my Kattle Kaller horn. Not sure of the application, my Dad got it at a garage sale for me. It's old, cable operated, and extremely loud! Kinda has atone like an angry duck.
Then I built little adapters to use H4 bulbs in these old Lucas headlights. They had a funky bulb that looked like an Edison bulb.

That’s killer! Front to back, inside and out it’s feeling very cohesive. Love it :)

I need a dark and stormy night to fire up the propane burner. It's hot work and it should scare the hell outta the neighbors!

Damn! That must be what's holding me back, no neighbors to scare. :(

Got the seats figured enough to get them to my buddy to stitch the leather on. Most of the wiring done. Hit a snag with the windows, have to move the latches out 3/8" to clear the glass. Boo.

God news is with the latch mount plate flush with the area where the old lock cylinder screw hole is the window clears the latch inside, barely. I cut the fuzzy in two pieces and am going to run a strip of plastic between the two chunks of fuzzy over the back of the latch. Not exactly perfect but should work well enough.

The seats are pretty hard and firm but I think they should soften a bit with about 1/2" of low density foam under the leather.

This latch issue is exactly why your paint decisions will pay dividends again and again.

Exactly! The whole truck needs gone over with a sanding block and some spot putty. The more I look the more "spots" I find. At this point I don't care I just want to drive it. I will touch up the paint as I can.

Yup. Needs clutch linkage finished, starter wire hooked up. Gauges wired, glass installed and door latches rewelded.
    Hitting it hard tomorrow

I really like the wiring. That is what I have for the roadster. I'm looking forward to getting that far and putting a neat system together.

Is that a commercial harness or did you cobble it together. Nice work! Is that black monofilament for tying flies?

I bought a used 32 Vintique harness and cut it all apart. The wrapping is special wax coated string for finishing ropes on yachts.

In case none of these other dudes are in touch with their feminine side I’ll go ahead and say it “ that little truck of yours sure is cute” “and the wiring is so nice and pretty” “looks classier than a designer handbag” “is that upholstery leather Louis V?”

Fired it up Today! Had a bad condenser, cracked cap and burned points in the Mallory distributor but I got it sorted. Makes 60 lbs of oil pressure max and 45 at idle with it boiling over from running it with the timing out of whack. I had to clock the plug wires and dick with it a bit but with even a little thing it makes 17" of vacuum at idle. Damn near perfect in my books.
I still need to spend some more time adjusting the pushrods. It has a loud lifter sound. Small block dodge lifters are cheap though.

    Yee haw!

  30. What did you end up doing? I just got my smoked glass today and the latch is playing havoc..
Also the door handle stem will also be in the way.. Have you test fitted the handle yet?
