IMG_2821.JPG Trans bolted up tonight and looks like I can go up about inch and back about 3/4" . This will require he least amount of firewall butchery. And still give me lots of clearance to everything but the steering box, but even that should work. Note how much more interior room I have.

Really glad you opted for a hot rod mill instead of a boat anchor.....happy motoring

Definite improvement to the interior room. You made a good choice. The "boat anchor" was a good choice until the pedal issue came up and a good deal on a Hemi came along.

I must have missed it and didn’t see when I scrolled back a few pages but what hemi is that? Considering a hemi/a833 combo for a future build so it piqued my curiosity

Seriously considering crushing this pile of shit and taking up macrame. No room for the starter or clutch linkage.

    No hydraulic clutch.
It won't fix the starter and steering box bing in the same spot.

This is why it's called a build instead of an assembly. You can figure this out. Swap sides with the starter?

Make it right hand steering. Don’t you guys drive on the wrong side of the road anyway? No wait that’s across the pound.

Glad to see you are back Wyatt!

And yes I am trying to put together a traditional type set up to move the starter to the right side where it belongs.

How about running the starter off the blower snout like the top fuelers.....you are running a blower right?.....it is a Hemi
    Happy new year Matt!

IMG_2998.JPG Still dicking with small things and trying to sort out the correct combination of worthless junk parts to make the trans fit.
I built a new mount for a hurst shifter I got for $20 to push the shifter handle forward quite a bit.

Enjoying your fantastic build ! Keep up the great job !
Can totally relate to 'Cheap Ass'!?! build. Back in the 90's I told my teenage son we were going to build a roadster for 500 bucks. Bought a V8 Vega project for 200, stripped every usable part, a clapped out A coupe topless body for 200, used the frt and rear axle from my 34 pickup teardown...Well, long story short...that $500 ended up $ 2,500 and blew our budget. But of course this chrome piece got added, the tri power got added,...you know what happens. Did have years of fun and many miles in that thing though !!

Tim, the throttle is a 40's something truck pedal cut to a 32-34 shape. Nothing terribly special

Does it only have one mounting point/ Heim type joint?

I cut up 46 ford ones for everything lately and am trying to figure out this latest one and like how you did yours.

It has one mounting bolt and the little tin cup hold the other end and seals the hole for the pedal to pass through.

Still plugging away. Slowly. Scrounging parts and figuring out the right combination.

I just bought a house, so things have been upside down for the last month or so.

The hemi is at the engine shop, rough bored and align honed. Waiting on a crank grind number to order the engine kit. But summer is here and the CJ has plates on it, so I get my open car fix for a while...

I scored a hot heads right side Chevy adapter plate and a Chevy scattershield at the local swap a couple of weeks ago, for $150 !
So cleaned up the back of the scattershield and turned the dodge 833 input retainer down to fit. I have to weld new lugs inside to match the trans bolt pattern but this should work. IMG_3257.JPG

Memory says ford's spoon pedals were in '32 to '36 cars and '32 to '39 trucks...
they then went to a ball on each end of the pedal assembly, the inner ball plugged into the back side of the rubber pedal...
