Got these at the swap meet for a fiver, think they are VW. Have them clamped up, looks OK I'm thinking. Buddy could care less, but look what happened last time I let him drive.

  3. Yes they are VW Bug, and 356 Porsche. You can still buy them new.

Not everything is on eBay, - some company’s still only sell direct.

I don't think I saw pictures of that truck with paint on it. Do you have any?

Not yet, still rubbing paint and putting all the doodads back on. Finally the fun part I've been looking forward to. Well not the rubbing paint. I'll get one today, playing with back bumper ideas too.

Empi also makes a flat nerf (t-bar in their world) that angles in at the top to match the lines of the VW and may work on some cars.

They appear to be just what I have been looking for. I see them for $104.95 on line from Jbugs. my problem is not being able to handle them and know for sure that's what I want concerning fit and size.
That's what I really dislike about ordering on line. They are for my coupe in the avatar.
Thanks a lot blowby, I'm going to chance it and order a pair.

Maybe if you asked @blowby he could trace them out on some cardboard and send the tracing to you.

When I take them off I'll do that, or LothianDon has some hanging on his wall.

Thanks! Here's how it's looking, coming along. Still have those General Lee wheels on one side, I know they're wrong but darn it I like the look on this thing. American TTs on the other side..

Here's my plan for the back bumper. I've been hanging onto that 3" stainless pipe for probably 25 years, tickled to finally use it for something. I bought the stainless clamps so I wouldn't have to weld on it and I can spin it around if it gets dinged. Just have to figure out how much to shorten it.

A recent thread on the perils of unfiltered air had me concerned about frog mouth scoops so I cobbled up some old motorcycle air filters to try out. Now that it's shiny I need to find something to make the 97s look better. Never ends..

Fiddling around with the back bumper today, cutting it down little by little until I get it just a bit too short. Saw some nice weld on stainless caps online, was thinking about that when, in a moment of sheer...cheapness, I remembered my Pringles can full of these. Perfect fit.

My grand plan is to fill it with emergency tire air. If I can get enough all thread to go all the way across I can glob some silicon sealer, add a Schrader valve..

Rear pipe bumpers are supposed to be filled with lead or concrete!
