Wait... Your roads are kinda rough up there? You are kidding me right? I think we will notch it. Were at that point, so why not right? Everyone is doing good Dale, just working away... You know how it is...

Havn't done it but I would think reversing the eyes would require heat which would do more damage than beating in it with a hammer. Just my warped way of thinking. Bob

.....Actually hammering would tend to harden it even more than spring steel already is; making it more brittle wouldn't it? Bending in a press would be better.....ya think?

    Great thread that I came back to reference and found pics gone because photobucket sucks. Here they are rebuilt. reverseleaf1.jpg reverseleaf2.jpg reverseleaf3.jpg reverseleaf4.jpg reverseleaf5.jpg reverseleaf6.jpg reverseleaf7.jpg reverseleaf8.jpg reverseleaf9.jpg reverseleaf10.jpg reverseleaf11.jpg reverseleaf12.jpg

  11. HEAT TO A SPRING IS WRONG. All work is done cold. Yes, your thinking is warped. The spring is tempered. Heat it and you remove the temper. Some spring repair can re-temper springs, but not many.
