  2. Doesn’t seem too bad. Haven’t we seen this one previously? It sure seems familiar. I remember my dad fixing a couple 65 roadsters that had been through fires in the 70’s and some of the big blisters he had to deal with.

I'd drive it. Actually I would hot rod the hell out of it and then I'd drive it.

  4. That’s about the condition I might be able to even consider on one of these.

Edit…just noticed it is an injected car so I still probably couldn’t afford it.

It does smell of fakeness. And yes it does show to be a FI car.
    So, Is this a car I don't need OR a car I don't want.
    It's both.

I google picture searched and this is from a 2015 ebay ad. Moriarity was typing while I was still looking at the pictures.

    I wouldn’t even paint it
  14. Tell people that it had a flame paint job but you drove it so fast that you blew out the fire!

A local here in the Omaha area nearly lost his early Vette when the Fuel pump gasket or connections spewed fuel on the engine during a term storage startup.

Any news on whether it was ever restored?

The crazy lengths that some folks will go to to get that patinated look!

  21. So if the fiberglass is charred but solid as it looks in the photo, how do you save it? Scrape/sand down to solid material and laminate new layers of cloth to it?
  22. Pretty sure that’s what my dad did, but that was only about 45 years ago so I’m not sure. I have pictures somewhere.

  23. Found one of them. I think the tire blew up in the fire or something if I remember right blowing the right fender off. So, it wasn’t near as nice as this one.

If it wasn't such a high end car ($$), it would be a Great artistic adventure to recreate the damage with paint after the appropriate repair work. Moose, how about it?!

Looks to me that it was CLOSE to a fire. Not for sure it was the cause, maybe in a building that caught fire. If it was the source it would burned more on one end, like the front if an engine fire.

The link Moriarity posted ( I know some folks never open links) stated that the fire started as a wiring fire under the dash. The scorched top of the body almost looks like the gasses from very fresh paint or the wax on top of the paint flashed off.
