Well a few of us buddies decides to get together, clean out the garages, rent a vendor space, camp out, and oh yea, have a good time. Here are some pics from this past weekend. i missed it to. been sick since tuesday worked all week that way and just didn't have th energy to go wander around. apparently the incoming timing was right and to my knowledge none of the autofair crowd got hit, but there was an outbreak of car break in at hotels and a few neighborhoods around charlotte tuesday night. i work for Safelite in charlotte and 80% of what we did wednesday were door/vent glass replacements. those are usually 10% on a good day.

Nice pics. I went Friday but the turnout was kind of small at that point.

  9. Despite a really muddy vending spot we had a great time and cleared up some garage space in the process. I rolled in late Wednesday and half our space was under water so I slept in the Dodge for the night! (After night 3 enough was enough) On Thursday, I was so busy selling stuff and tending the booth I made it with one pack of toasted crackers and a diet coke in the tank. It was good to see more Assorted Nuts roll in Friday. It was also good to see MotoAndy's and SCHaryRide's well stocked coolers and snacks I must say!! Thanks guys! :D
I managed to take 6 pics the whole time- these were on the way to get some of that fresh sqeezed lemonade. The only self-serving splurge I made all weekend. Will post them from my phone next. ;)

I know the guy that owns this. He's asking 25G for it and it's just a crude fiberglass POS.

The guy had some flyers in the trunk advertising 3 styles of fiberglass Bugati bodies. This car had a delahaye badge on the rear. It was BMW powered. You could tell where the rear windows were siliconed in. I am only speculating, but I thought it was fiberglass. Very cool, very Art Deco. Please chime in if I am way wrong or have some more information.........I have been wrong before.

I typically am very opened minded. I thought prices were high this weekend. We sat across from an unfinished 55 Chevy. No dash, crappy aluminum wheels, trim was not completely installed, nor was the interior finished for 39,900.

According to my pedometer I walked 27 miles over 3 days. Didn't find anything of note to buy other than paint and body supplies. Didn't sell much either other than a mustang trunk lid, a set of wide whites, and a topper for a nail scale...and a bunch of cans of soda (donations!)
Either couldn't find what I was looking for or when I found it the price was higher than I was willing to pay...but still had a blast: the two times a year it's just me and my dad and old car stuff

  21. Thanks for the pics. 'Went Friday, looked around, saw a few nice cars. I'm beginning to think to Spring show is the better of the two.

  22. This is probably my favorite car related excursion in my neck of the woods. Sorry I missed it this time. My son usually comes with me but he couldn't make it and I didn't want to drive all that way by myself. Maybe the spring show next year..

  23. I have always gone to both but I honestly believe the spring swap meet is better, maybe it's because people are suffering from cabin fever and are ready to get out of the house and have had all winter to scrounge up stuff to sell. HRP

Thanks for the photos. The red 26 coupe next to Tom Bush's 32 coupe belongs to me,John Fink of Landis'NC, aka 26 hotrod here on the HAMB. I've had the privelage to park with Mike Goodman of Honest Charley at the AutoFair for the last dozen years or so. Thanks to everyone that came by to say hi...................
