Searched Google and here with no success. Any precautions needed when using a battery charger on a Pertronix equipped vehicle? BTW,car in question is a very traditionally styled '48 Ford coupe with a 283. Underhood looks like a 1958 flashback. Thanks for any help.

  2. I charged up the battery on my old sedan without any problems. HRP

  3. Nope - No problems if you are just charging the battery "Normally" (ie, key off)
    Don from PerTronix.

  4. I usually disconnect the positive terminal just as a precaution.

I've had pertronix for five years in my Fairlane with no issues and have given/gotten many jump-starts, charged with a battery charger many times and still run a generator. freakin' thing is been bullet-proof.
