I like the empty hole in the dash. It says a lot. For one thing, it means the car ain't done yet.

I really like the way the guy continued the bead line in the body around the suspension components at the back if the cab....Lots of nice detail in that thing for sure

That's Kirk Hanning's way cool pickup - He is a HAMB member...
I like how he used quarter-elliptical springs front and rear - plus many, many other cool details!

A few more photos I took at the Pileup:

Absolutely incredible job in that short of time. I think the wheels are the same color as the body..it's funny how the flake makes the two look different in the pics. It looks like the grill was chopped, too. Id like to see what it would look like with the headlights up about five more inches. Damn..what a job!

Thanks everyone for the appreciation on my pickup. It was taken at the last cruise of the year at Chrysler's headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI about 3 months ago. A photographer asked permission to shoot, I said hell yeah, spread the traditional hot rod and its culture. In a sea of muscle cars at that event it stuck out like a turd in a punch bowl. The frame wasn't z'd, the 1/4 ellpitic springs come out of a fabbed up spring perch at each corner of the frame.

Here is a pic of the rear spring perch. The front is in the same manner but not tilted up. The spring pictured is a 35'-41' leaf cut in half and the front is a Model A cut in half. This set up works really well. It handles like a slot car around corners unlike a buggy sprung set up.

Is the rear spring(s) a '35-'41 rear or front cut in half?

Thanks for sharing some details with us!

The front spring is Model A cut in half
The rear spring is 35-41' cut in half

I did replace the main leaf on the Model A spring to get the reverse eye to get the truck lower...er I mean sittin' right. All of my build pics are on my old computer that crashed. I need to talk to someone who is smarter than me, which wouldn't take much, and have him/her retreive them.
