Caution: early Ford bolt on dropped spindle arms

    Lots of recommendations for loctite, but be cautious when using any kind of sealer on a blind hole. Too much and you can cause a hydraulic lock that can damage the part or give you a bad torque reading.
     
  3. I just give it a stripe up the threads of the bolt, I have seen some guys squirt it into bolt holes though...

    In torque formulas you can factor in things like loctite, lubricants, coatings, etc.

    There's no way a casting could be bent like I bent those Speedway arms. There's not a doubt in my mind that they are forgings as is claimed. Do you have evidence that refutes their claim, or are you just parroting the old "if they're Chinese they're crap" assertion? Just curious how much first hand experience you have with them.

    I think that using studs is a good idea , but it looks like the steering arms would not be easy to remove from the backing plate as the studs would cause "interference" issues with the axle when trying to remove the steering arms as it appears that the dropped axle almost touches the steering arm.
