Technical Carburetor Replating?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BOSTONCAMARO, Mar 3, 2025.

  1. Hello All,

Any good sources in Northeast USA to have a couple Holley 4 barrel centers (just the main body) replated to look somewhat close to original?

    Thanks in advance!

Unless you are delivering it in person, shipping is minimal compared to the likely cost of re-plating and you might want to expand your search nationwide.

In the early 90's, I found an original L79 Nova Holley carb that had some parts missing and needed rebuilt and recoated, I sent it to The Holley Custom Shop in the early 90's, don't recall exactly where they were at that time but want to say it was in Bowling Green Kentucky.
I think it turned out real nice.

Cody Metal Finishing looks to be a large commercial operation, I’d be surprised if they took in small jobs.

“Somewhat” close to original, choose any of the guys. You want it to look like new, Drew is your guy at AFS. Air, Fuel, Spark!

I believe Drew has a section of his website devoted to his work trying to develop his refinishing process. I haven’t looked through it but there may be info on there so you can do it yourself. I think he only does full restorations on a select group of carburetors (original equipment Ford Holleys)

Might look into a local Cerakote dealer, they have a wide range of colors that should hold up.
