Specifcally, AFB aluminum carb castings. I used to plastic media blast snowmobile clutches and they came out looking like new. This is an old, matched set of dual quad carbs that I cant take a chance on messing up.They are really not bad but I want them looking new.Has anyone tried plastic media on carb castings? they are not dirty or badly corroded,I just want that fresh out of the box look!

Try soda blasting...do a web search you can build a soda blaster for almost nothing!

  3. glass will fill all the small holes....not good. Try soda as it disolves

Whatever you choose - try it on a "core" carburetor first (anything cheap at the swaps) your definition of "factory" and someone elses may be totally different - found this out the hard way with an intake...
