Car scene in Eugene Oregon?

Brooks Auto Parts on Franklin in Glenwood (between Euene& Spfld) is Friday night. Some cruise over to Fin's Drive In on Main St Spfld. Twist Joe's arm & he might have a Bar B Que at 28th & Main. Springfield Cruiz is the third weekend in July.

 

Thanks for the info redo. My timing always seems to be between shows and cruises down there when i visit family. This time my dad's 77th bday party potluck thing is going on in the big city of Alpine but i told him i was disappearing a couple hours to do the cruise part of the function 4 junction thing. It's technically a june birthdays potluck but figure since i'm not down there but once a year usually so with so many there they won't miss me for a little while. lol

I haven't been to Brooks in years. I changed the rear wheel bearing on my '69 pontiac there in the parking lot round 1979-80. Used to be the best prices for parts, probably not anymore as nothing is 'cheap' these days!

 

Their car shows suck compared to Portland and Timbuktoo

 

I live in eugene, there are a number of car clubs in the area, brooks has closed, but the friends of the gut, meets weekly at 28th and willamette, fridays and saturdays.
fin's on main street in springfield is an old style drive in diner, and the people from brooks now meet there on fridays.
also the jaspers car club often meets up there, when they have a cruize or a multi club meet lined up.

the function for junction starts today with the open cruize, and closed sho n shine/ cruize event tomorrow. it kicks off the local area season, for the paid events.

Nice to know about the cruise at 28th and Willamette. It that at the shopping center, which by the way was the old Eugene Drive in theater.

 

the drive in was before my time. but yah. it's at the east entrance where big 5 sports is, . I drive ared 75 monte carlo, a blue 76 monte carlo, and some times a gold E'lan T-bird..
just like back in the old days of cruizin' the gut.. you never know what cars will show up., from one week to another.
