12v conversion is complete. Other than hooking up the ballast resistor backwards which pissed it off some, everything works fantastic. I can actually see the road, and my gauges!

It's been a long time... But...

Been hooning the shit outta her.

Installed Fenton split headers, running dual 2.5" straight pipes... She's pretty damned loud!

Lowered the rear 3" with blocks, replaced original wheels with black S10 15x7 steels and P235/75R15 tires. Took teeth outta the grille and am getting ready to yard the interior out.

Got a new aluminum radiator and e-fan, gonna ditch the mechanical one.

I'm gonna grind down the rear bump stops and look into lowering the front about 3" w/o cutting the coils.

After that, replacing glass, fixing rust and onto more body mods!

Got the interior gutted... Floor looks... Flintstone-ish.

    Yay. Pics to come.

New Radiator is in. Went with a Fat Ass 4 row from Champion. Now need to wire in a switch for the fan, install a thermostat and I'm good to go!

It lightened the car considerably... That old brass radiator weighed a ton!

  9. Just my 2 cents, but I think if your going to run an electric fan, a puller would be better than a pusher.
Looks like you have the room from looking at your pic.

I would, but there isn't enough room for even the 14" fan I have. The water pump sits less than 2" from the radiator...

Even the factory manual fan wouldn't fit in there...

  11. Well time will tell, hopefully the set-up will work and keep it cool especially in any kind of stop and go traffic.

    X2.

Sunday I drove across town with no fan whatsoever, and it didn't reach operating temp. Drove it to my garage yesterday (bit cooler outside temps) and it took all the way across town to come up to 1/3. Once moving it cooled back off. So I'm hoping like hell the pusher fan will keep it happy while stopped in the heat (which we haven't had) as anything above about 30mph will be effectively the same.
