Anyone read the Mar/Apr article about chopping a 51 Ford? I was hoping someone could explain something. On page 16, step 29 of the chop it says "... as you cut and tack the outer panels eventually the inner panel will fall out." I'm a little confused about what inner panel they are talking about. Are they referring to step 26?
hahaha!!! rum! Thats fukn great! Try this thread... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=802283&highlight=choptvan might help a bit!
I haven't read it, but im guessing when your laying the window down or another area and you have the metal overlapping, you will start to cut at the joined seam. So then when you cut and tack, cut some more and tack. Eventually the piece that was on the bottom will fall out when you finish cutting across the seam..You then will have the sheet metal butted together ready to be fully welded...
