    Mercury Big M junior. 1957-58
Promo car on steroids. was used in the same fashion as the smaller scale promos to bring potential customers into the dealership. Available in gas or electric powered, they even offered a radio.

1956 Pontiac Starchief Junior used by Pontiac dealers. Was electric powered and made by Silvestri Art Studios in Chicago.
I have some vintage video of this on on Youtube!

WOW, how do you have time to dust 'em? By the time you get done with all of them & the cases, it's time to start, again. Great collection.

I have had this Glass Corvette since a dealership in Oklahoma gave it to my Dad in 1953. :)

  8. Careful, promo collecting can be as addictive as crack cocaine - especially if you are OCD, focus on one marque/model and try to get every color made. My addiction started when I wanted to get promos of the '55 Victoria, '63 box-top Galaxie 500/XL and T-bird hardtop in the early-mid '80s. Ended up with over 200 T-bird promos in varying states of condition from parts cars to mint-in-box examples from '55 through the last of them in '71, including '64-'67 radios, frictions, etc. Even had may late father make a few display cases for them so I could take them to the Wahoo car shows in the early '90s and T-bird conventions. Now days unless it's a color I don't have, I walk past them at the swap meets.

On top of that there's all the red '60s Ford Galaxie convertibles, a mix of '60-'61 Starliners and other '61 Fords, and a few early Mustangs (including the Poppy Red '65 fastback radio). Newest ones for me is an early '80s ElCamino which I'd hate to cut to match my '87 and a '94 Mustang GT.

Sad thing is I have a friend who has collected so many '50s-'60s Ford/T-bird promos that he's lost count, and like me probably has more boxed up in the closet than on display. Trying to keep his son from playing with them means once in a while he'll find a beat-up one for "his" collection.

I have been looking for a 49-54 chevy wagon promo, preferable a 53. I have seen one but never one in person.
