So, with a few of my buddies we have had the same conversation numerous times about car clubs. Do car clubs follow the same protocol as motorcycle clubs? By that I mean does a new car club looking to start up approach the dominant club about starting in the same territory. This is probably a stupid question, but wanted to get some expert opinions on this......

Car clubs are nothing like motorcycle clubs. Don't worry about it.

    BOTH, haha

Wasn't really looking to start one, but coming from the MC side of things always wondered if there was any order and organization amongst the car clubs. So, the clubs with a 'bottom rocker' are just saying where they are from?

I am 68 and have been in one car club or another since I was about 18. To my knowledge, we have never killed a member from another club yet..............

I see your talking about a bottom rocker, do car clubs use a 3 piece patch now?
I know it's a dumb question, but I don't get out much anymore.

not at all the same. but we attached the rocker anyway.

  14. Even a bike club if its not a wannabe club doesn't approach the dominant club in the area. you throw your patch on and let the chips fall where they may.

The question is are you thinking that you guys are a bunch of outlaws or just a bunch of guys that like riding around together. If you are a bunch of guys that like riding around together just do it, its not like you are gansters of some sort and are looking to establish territory to control.

  15. In essence the Hamb is a huge car club!

I have been a member of Tri- City Rod & Custom (EST 1972) since the early seventys and I can't recall a single problem with other clubs.

It's the oldest continuous Hot Rod CC in the state. HRP
  16. Too many movies,. . .

"We're the Road Butts CC and this is our turf, don't nobody be drivin' around in our turf." LOL

You should let them know, possibly they would like to include you in their next social. If you want to be in a club why not join the local club? Inevitably a second club can cause some animosity(REALor IMAGINED)depending on the size of population when it comes to attracting members or hosting events.
I have never belonged to a car club but have friends who have told me the reasons why they no longer belong to clubs.

Big turf war here awhile back over which MC club had the rights to the local Starbucks. Will car clubs ever battle over auto parts store rights? "Get your 20/50 somewhere else pal!"

"It was all about who would be allowed to hang out at the Starbucks downtown," Santa Cruz Deputy Police Chief Steve Clark told Reuters. "The Vagos brazenly came in and tried to cement their presence. It was a pretty strong play on their part to establish themselves as the premiere club . . . Only in Santa Cruz would you have biker wars over who's going to control pumpkin spice lattes."

The image of a fearsome pack of Hells Angels swinging crowbars to protect their lattes and unwittingly sparking a nationwide gang war in the process is certainly amusing, but it may not be entirely accurate.

I swear I'm about 5 seconds away from starting a car club called the Crips. Just because.

  21. Most car clubs are just that CLUBS - Social Groups! There is no territory or Turf. They aren't involved with Drugs, GTA, or Other nefarious activities that would require worrying about another club. Maybe some of the new, young punk 50's thug wannabe's have a problem, but the older clubs get along fine and it ain't like the B Movies ;)
