I designed this for our old club and Dennis O'Brien did his magic....

Yes. same club. The club is officially based in Westford, ma.

Which ones are they? I'm trying to only post real club plaques and sometimes it's hard to tell if they are real or just drawings.

The GMB's are actually more of a club than a lot of clubs... You may want to leave it for posterity.

 

Ak Miller handed this plaque to me in 1960 when I joined the Road Runners. It's only been mounted on two cars in 48 years, both RPU's. A lot of memories go with it. Still got the jacket too, but it must have shrunk.

 

I've seen this on your website. Formed 1999 early 2000. Been off and on since, but we have a good set of commited "stable" guys now so....

 

I'm 99.99% sure that my father was never a member of any club named the "STOCKERS" ... I think he just picked this generic club plaque up at a swap meet:

Not a Car Club Plaque ... but this chrome & enamel plaque was mounted on the firewall of the HEMI32 coupe from 1957 through 1975:




1958: "MOON Equipped" 331ci Chrysler HEMI

 

I'm not trying to document clubs. I'm trying to document the traditional type of plaques that clubs had or have for the sake of history.

When the GMB's actually have a plaque made, I'll post a photo of it then.

My Piston Riders club plaque. Been on all of my cars since 1954.

 

I hope this goes thru. It is the first time I ever did this on the hamb.

 

My avatar is a pic of my original 1960 plaque. The club was based out of Elkhart in and none other than Fred Sibley AKA "Airplane Freddy" was president. I'm gonna resurrect the club and am looking at having more plaques made. There were only 9 original members and it disbanded in 1965. I know where 3 more are and thats it.

One more. The current Road Runners plaque. It is taken from a plaque that was found in a yard sale. Believed to be the original design. The SCTA's oldest club.

The club has been reactivated about a year ago.It used to be called The Rebels Race Car Club. My good friend's grandfather and his buddies started the club back in the 50's but it had not been active for about 20 years or so. We contacted the last surviving member and asked him if we could restart the club. He gave us his blessing and also found an old plaque for us to copy but it had the Confederate flag as the background which we felt was not PC in this day and age so we used the TX flag instead and shortened the name.I believe the ATA stands for American Timing Association.They used to do time trials and drag race on runways at assorted flight line's around San Antinio you can read more and see pic's of original plaque and members cars at

I went to your club's website and read that the ATA stands for Alamo Timing Assn. Seems there were a lot of racing associations in Texas back then as I have several listed on our website and I've also added a page for the ATA.

I've also copied the original plaque and added it to the San Antonio page.

This plaque belonged to my father who was a member in the 1930's. I display it on the back of the 1950 F1 that he gave me for restoration.
