From looking at these photos, you could have saved yourself a lot of money by building a fiberglass car.

Looks great! Are you going to try and "bake" the paint in the winter Florida sun,or are you going to rent a booth somewhere to let it sit overnight?

You have put so much work into that paint,I'd really hate to see it get scratched.

I'm just curious as to why you painted the body separate from the doors. Hows the paint match?

What are we going to drool over when your done.

I understand. I also understand from when I was building custom Harley's that after all that hard work it's awful nice to get one together and ride/drive it at least ONCE while it's still perfect.

I also came to understand that getting that first scrape took all the pressure off and made the bike more enjoyable.

Still, that ONE day to ride around and bask in the sun and the pride and reward of perfectionism makes all that hard work and attention to detail worthwhile.

    I'm sure he's joking.

I did not have the room to paint all the parts at once. Pearls match better than other colors. Ron is a damn good painter and knows what he's doing. He painted the deck lid separately, what do you think?

It is scary doing it this way but I had no choice. Another reason is timing. It takes a lot of time to paint these parts. If it gets too late in the afternoon the bugs come out and get in the clear. I hate that!

  18. Dave (can I call you that? I feel we know each other by now.) The rod looks more bitchin' every picture you post! It was fun watching the doors get pretty in the video too! This car is soo good lookin' - the only way a rod like that could look better is with some bugs on the windshield as it drives by. Can't beat seeing a hot rot fly by rather than sittin' still somewhere! Every stone bruse is a badge of honour.... 'least I treat mine that way!

    Nice!

OF COURSE I was joking!!! I have followed this thread since day one. My comment was to acknowledge Mission Accomplished - per the title of the thread and the intent of the build. Well done.

No criticism was intended in my question.:) Your doing a super fine job no matter what tools and or space you have. Mans got to work with what he has and it looks like you are making good use of your limited working space.
