Sprayed the last coat of primer on the doors today. If the weather holds I will paint them. I sanded and polished the front end bolts.

You are using common hardware grade bolts for your backing plates? I realize there is no real stress put on them, but wouldn't Grade 5 be safer?

I'm not trying to be an ass, but did I read that you didn't paint the doors with the body?

Over 2000 so far with over 600 in the last 4 months. I have worked on it some everyday since September. Most days over 8 hours. The little things take a ton of time. Come spring, that will all change.

I put tape on the bolts to keep from screwing up the finish.

Well, it looks like it.. I can't wait to see it in person. Thats why it's hard to earn a living building that class of a car. If the shop labor was just $65.00 an hour ( real cheep ) that would be $130,000.00 in labor only.

Holy smokes, your work is beautiful. Two tone front axle is very cool. I've never seen that before.

You're one anal son of a bitch...

    and I love it.

For your first rod, it's a home run.

The attention to detail, color selection, you have a gift.

LOL, you guys are killin me.....
Thanks for the kind words, had a bump in the road today. I went to look at the leather hides and they were not good. They were very uneven in color and you could see where the die was rubbed on. So I sat down and went through samples for a few hours and came up with a new combo. Going with a high end vinyl and a loop carpet instead of pile carpet. It will save me a few bucks and wear better. Well back to the shop, I will post pictures tonight.

  30. sucks about the leather, hand rubbed stuff is hard for some to match, not enough grease in the elbows sometimes, that's what I've witnessed(sp)
The carpet might be a good move too if you're planning on driving it much, never know what the weathers going to be like when you get there.
