CANDY CLARK: HER "AMERICAN GRAFFITI STORY" !

FOR HER ROLE OF "DEBBIE DUNHAM", IN THE 1973 Classic Film "American Graffiti", CANDY CLARK was nominated for an Academy Award as "Best Supporting Actress".

[IMG] CANDY IS ONE OF THE nicest people you'll ever encounter, and has almost total recall concerning the film, the background of her character, the location, the historical time-frame of the period involved, the cultural importance of the film, and almost anything else you'd want to know about American Graffiti !

Candy loves doing the circuit of R&C shows around the country...and around the world ! She started doing car shows in 1999...and has done 'em every year since !

Candy is a fan-favorite, like Paul Le Mat, and, Bo Hopkins. Her table always has a constant line in front of it....fans wanting to talk about the film, and thank her for being a part of it.

I was privileged to spend some quality-time with Candy over the weekend at Darryl Starbird's 50th Anniversary Tulsa Rod & Custom Show in February, 2014. That's where this in-depth Interview took place on a Saturday afternoon and, although it had been a long day for Candy, she was sharp, spot-on with all of her answers, and just a pleasure to be with. Here's the Direct Link that will take you to the Interview: http://www.legends.thewwbc.net/gpage116.html

Enjoy this, and since Candy is once again heading-out to shows this Season, add your memories of both AG, and, meeting Candy...share 'em with us here !

  4. I met Candy at several shows. A very nice and sweet girl. But the last time was at the Indoor Hot Rod Nats, at Timonium Md. I had my grandson with me. He was about six at the time. I already had her autograph on my garage wall at home. But she still took the time to talk to us, and share her story. She only stopped long enough to sign a autograph, when someone would come by. It wasn't as busy, or a long line like the NSRA Nats East in York Pa. I was there at the right time I guess.;) She likes Hot Rods, people, and sharing her story. Thanks for sharing, and a cool thread too.:)Ron....

I was fortunate enough to run in to Wolfman at a car show here in So Cal years ago. Got him to sign my 8-track tape of A.G. which i played while cruising E st. ,San Berdo back in the 70's. Also have a poster with the main characters autographs. My favorite movie.:)

One movie and a lifelong career. It took me 6 years of college and a couple of years as a trainee.

  17. She and Cindy Williams will be at this year's Chrome City Ride in Ridgely, MD. Looking forward to it! Candy was there 2 years ago, but this will be Cindy's 1st appearance there.

    56showbox...

Sorry about the problem, but here's how it's usually solved. You need a Windows-based PC, or, an Android-based system with Adobe Flash installed.

Java Script/Adobe is free for the download...and once it is installed and on your system there shouldn't be a problem. (It's best to reboot you Comp. after it's installed.)
I just re-checked the Link and it's fine.

You should be able to get it okay, with a Windows or Android system as I mentioned above....it sometimes has problems with iPhone; iPads;iPods...they work on a different system.

Again, sorry you had the problem, but thanks for letting me know.

    Best,

    Jonnie

She was at the West Coast Kustom show in Santa Maria, Memorial Day weekend. She signed the inside of the deck lid on my buddies 63 Ford.
