Cool car, definitely from the 60's helped a friend do a T in the 60s and it was Candy Tangerine Orange. That was the color at that time.
That has been a favourite of mine.forever.It will be the map for my drag roadster.Great Article Joey.
Perfect even for today. The '39 tranny has me scratching my head though. I think I could still rebuild one blindfolded.
Joey; I don't know where you keep coming up with these amazing blogs and so much history for such a young guy, but kudos to you. I remember that issue like it was yesterday. The car was the epitome of altered and although I painted mine Omaha Orange, it had a great influence on me. Warren
Does anyone know what magazine and issue this coupe was in? If so, I would appreciate any information. Thanks
This is one of those cars that makes me wonder what happened to it. I'd guess they put the motor in something else and threw out the transmission. The chassis probably became outdated due to certification requirements (I'm not sure if there even were requirements for altered cars in the 60's) and new technology. The body looks like glass...perhaps it got junked due to the areas removed to fit the engine setback.
I got that magazine from a friends uncle when I was twelve.Proceeded to cut that photo out ,mounted it on a piece of colored poster board, and hung it on my bedroom wall for years.Between this car ,and the Mooneyham Sharpe coupe,I didn't stand a chance.Any one venture how much Chop?
Let's see, when this issue came out I had just turned 13. I drooled over this car ( the stance, the blown Hemi, the color, etc.) and it's among my favorites! Thanks Joey
